World Linkup

Working together to achieve
global goal

WHO WE ARE

The name of our organization is World Linkup. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving Bangladesh’s sustainable development goals.

We are committed to bringing positive change in Bangladesh through sustainable development initiatives. Our journey to build a sustainable Bangladesh started with some young entrepreneurs from Rajshahi University just a few days after the announcement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations in 2016. With a passion for social impact, We have been instrumental in establishing World Linkup as a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In that continuation, we had the opportunity to participate in the Global Summit in 4 countries of the world organized by the United Nations in 2018 and 2019. As representatives, Some of our members had the opportunity to attend COP28 in Dubai in 2023.

WHAT WE DO

01

— No property with innovative business

The poor are not a burden but a valuable asset to the country. To transform a nation into a developed
one, poverty must first be eradicated—not through financial aid, but by creating sustainable jobs that
provide regular income. This approach emphasizes the development of cottage industries using locally
available raw materials, such as plants and natural resources, which often go to waste. By promoting
cottage industries, particularly in rural areas, idle villagers, including women and youth, can contribute to
household and national prosperity. Engaging the unemployed and underutilized segments of society,
especially women, will foster self-reliance, alleviate poverty, and drive national development.

02

— Climate friendly product development

Thousands of non-traditional items from Bangladesh are still highly valued on the international market.
We intend to conduct research to create these products and market them internationally.
Eco leather – We want to make eco leather which is very beneficial for both nature and human
health. This eco leather is made from pineapple leaves and peels and can also be made from fish skin
mushrooms coconut cactus coffee etc.
Plastic and Polythene are polluting our environment very badly that’s why we are making bio degradable
plastic.

03

— Developing a Model SDG Village in Bangladesh

We envision creating a model village in Bangladesh that exemplifies the successful implementation of the
17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This village will serve as a prototype for sustainable and
inclusive development, addressing local needs while adhering to global standards.
The aim is to transform the village into an SDG Model Zone that systematically achieves goals such as
poverty eradication, quality education, health, clean water, gender equality, and climate action. By
integrating sustainable practices across healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and
governance, the model will demonstrate how holistic approaches can uplift communities and build
resilience.
Once established, the SDG Model Village will serve as a blueprint for replicating these strategies in other
regions of Bangladesh, promoting sustainable development nationwide. This scalable model will help
create a roadmap for adapting the SDGs to various communities, ensuring a cohesive approach to
sustainable development at a national level.

04

— Metal free food

Bangladeshi food is often contaminated with heavy metals, posing significant health
risks. To combat this, our efforts are underway to promote and provide metal-free, chemical-free food
options, encouraging local entrepreneurs to produce safer foods. Testing soil, water, and air prior to crop
production is crucial to prevent metal contamination. Fish and poultry, if raised without conventional feed,
can also reduce metal exposure. Ensuring metal-free foods is essential to address food insecurity and
malnutrition, which impact health. Mycotoxins, affecting a quarter of global food production per the FAO,
and heavy metals like cadmium, chromium, and mercury, are rising concerns. They reduce immunity,
degrade soil fertility, and potentially increase cancer risk by 25%.

05

— Raising Health awareness

In Bangladesh, a lack of health awareness contributes to the deaths of millions each year, with women
facing greater health risks. Aiming to reduce these deaths, awareness campaigns we have been
organized, particularly at Rajshahi University. There, a campaign educated 2,000 female students on
cervical cancer, and another reached 100,000 people to address the risks of antibiotic misuse and the
importance of completing prescribed courses. This effort supports the broader concept of “Health for All,”
advocating for equal access to quality healthcare regardless of socioeconomic status, caste, gender, or
location.

06

— We consult

Our institution supports talented but financially disadvantaged students, who wish to pursue higher
education abroad by providing guidance, part-time job opportunities and support tailored to their needs.
We aim to help students avoid the risk of engaging with brokers or third-party agencies that may exploit
them. Many students face setbacks when these organizations prioritize profits, placing them in
inappropriate programs or universities that do not align with their qualifications. To address this, we
collaborate with Rajshahi University students and those currently studying abroad to provide genuine
support, helping students get admitted to programs that match their qualifications without being
scammed.
